The Farmhouse at Delettes

The farmhouse is in the centre of the village of Delettes, which nestles in the valley of the river Lys and is surrounded by the rolling countryside of southern Pas de Calais, near St Omer, just 45 minutes by car from the Tunnel and ferry ports.

The farmhouse and the barns, enclose the three sides of a big courtyard. The fourth side is an old stone house which we have recently restored for our own use whenever the farmhouse is not let. There is a large garden and heated swimming pool to the rear of the farmhouse.

We bought the property 20 years ago as a retreat where we could relax and have lots of fun with our two small sons. We hear from the families who stay there that the fun continues and that they also find the same relaxing atmosphere, as well as enjoying all the facilities the farmhouse offers that make for a really great family holiday."

The farmhouse, which has been furnished and equipped for comfort and relaxation, has four bedrooms for up to 9 people but can sleep up to 12 people using the sofa bed in the games room and two z beds (which are suitable for children). It has full oil fired central heating and constant hot water. You can also call on the services of our housekeeper, Anne Marie Bruge, who lives close by.

It is ideal for families at any time of year, whatever the weather, or anyone else wishing to take a relaxing short break or full holiday. There is masses to do in and around the farmhouse, courtyard, barns and garden and pool for children of all ages (and their parents).

Families who have stayed have often said it is one of the most relaxing holidays they have had as the children are fully occupied and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. Over the years, some of our visitors have used the house for everything from celebrating landmark anniversaries to spending a quiet romantic weekend “à deux” enjoying the tranquillity of the house and garden.
